{Easy} Fleece Christmas Pillow Covers

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house...

I have a super easy project I wanted to share... its perfect for this time of year.

I made 3 fleece pillow covers that are so soft and cozy in about 15 minutes out of 1 blanket.

It doesn't get much better than that!

The blanket was one of those 50x60 inch throws that you can find just about anywhere... I think I've seen them at Walmart for as low as $3. There are so many different patterns and colors to choose from! So not only is this project easy, its cheap as well.

These pillow covers were so easy to make and they're so soft that I might just have to make more.

I've listed all the measurements and instructions of how I made these pillow covers, so help yourself if you want to give it a try.

#1

I started by laying the blanket out, measuring 18.5 inch sections and making cuts all the way across on the 60 inch side (the long side)

So you will have 3 pieces that measure approx. 18.5 x 50 inches

#2

With the right side of the blanket facing up, fold the right or left side over approx 15.25 inches (it doesn't matter what side you start with)

make sure all your sides look square, so you don't have a funny shaped pillow when you're done.

#3
then fold the opposite side (whichever side you didn't use first) approx. 15.25 inches over the side you already folded and make sure everything is straight and square. The blanket I had was stretchy so be careful not to pull it too far one direction.

Pin all the corners, edges and the center so the folds don't move or slide.

#4
Sew all the way around the outside edge (I used a 1/4 inch seem) but you can make your seem as big as you want.

#5
After its all sewn, pull your pins and snip the corners off just a bit so they don't ball up when you turn it right-side out.

Then you're ready to turn your pillow case right-side out, put in your pillow and snuggle on the couch!

An easy project for beginner sewers or anyone who wants super soft warm pillows for the cold season.

We absolutely love ours!
(And I guarantee I will be making more for January.)
