More {DIY T-shirts}

I can't get enough of all the cute shirts I want to buy and make!

There are so many cute shirts out there people are selling. I think I could buy and buy and not have enough!

I like to design my own shirts so they say just what I want... but you can buy so many cute svg files to make your shirts.

There's so many options!

I've bought my fair share... but my favorite is to design my own and I make a handful of these each year... I just can't get enough of how fun and easy they are to make.

They make great gifts for grandparents as well!

I've spent years making grandkid t-shirts for my Dad and he loves them! He wears them until they turn into rags and then he informs me its time for a new one :)

When I turned 40 I wanted one that said "40-licious"... its one of my favorite shirts!

.....

Instructions:

#1:  pick a t-shirt or sweater

#2:  buy or make your template by using a Cricut, Silhouette, or print it on cardstock and cut it out by hand with a X-Acto knife.

I use a really old Cricut and the cheapest removable vinyl to make my templates.

#3:   you can use iron on vinyl or my favorite method... craft paint. With paint you have so many color options to choose from or mix to make a custom color. The fabric will absorb some of the paint so you might have to do a couple coats. (make sure to put cardstock or something inside the shirt because the paint will bleed through and could get on the back without something to stop it)

#4:    peel off the vinyl and wear... or wash to soften the paint just a bit

It's that easy!

A bit of work, but easy to make!

They always turn out cute...

and the possibilities are endless!

Mini Picture Frame Magnets

I make and collect magnets...

(there are no affiliate links on this post but I did include product ads so you can see prices)

The magnet collection was never intentional... it just happened:)

.....

My collection started because I had a jar full of stuff you collect as a teenager...  and as an adult I didn't know what to do with them besides throw them away.

But before I tossed them... I had a great idea...

I could make them into magnets!

(I had sea shells, stones, marbles and coins)

They turned out great!!

.....

As an adult I've also collected a few small objects from trips we've taken as a family...

and they make great magents also!!!

But my favorites are the mini picture frame magnets!

They have pictures of my favorite people and

they are really nice because I can change them out if I want.

.....

It's sooooo easy!

~ buy a large package of magnets from the hardware store or you can order           them

~ use your favorite craft glue...

~ glue a magnet (or a couple) to the back of whatever you want

~ let it dry approx. 24 hrs to harden completely

~ put it on your magnet board... or large tin letter

I found these little frames on Amazon and I thought they would be perfect for photos of our parents.

I used 3 magnets because the frames are a bit heavy and I want them to hold well without falling off my large tin letter H. So depending on how heavy your object is you may want more magnets.

Another great project finished!

They turned out beautiful and so simple!!

Happy crafting!

DIY Wheelbarrow

If you're looking for a fun easy little project, here it is!

This wheelbarrow is so cute and it was easy to make!!

I get in so much trouble when I scroll through Pinterest!... but there are so many good ideas on there.

So one day I came across instructions on how to build this cute small wheelbarrow. The instructions list all the supplies and cuts that you need to make.

I already had some of the wood so I only needed to buy the crate which I ordered on Walmart.com for I think $18 and a large carriage bolt.

With the great instructions it didn't take long to cut my boards and put the wheelbarrow together.

Here's the website I used...

Then I stained it with my new favorite color

I love this stain!!!
(it is brown with just a bit of gray to make the wood look rustic)

This wheelbarrow was a fun project and I love how it turned out.

I used pipe insulators as a filler and then bought fake greenery from Dollar Tree.

I'm excited to use this for fall and fill it with pumpkins
and flowers in spring!

Happy Crafting!

Shrinky Dink Ornament

Its almost Christmas already! What happened to this year?! It has flown by so fast!

Each year I make or order an ornament with our family picture. This year I decided to try making one with Shrinky Dink plastic.

This stuff is so fun and super easy to use!

You can make just about anything you want... and they are really durable.

I really like how it turned out!... and it should last for a very long time.

So if you don't know how to use Shrinky dink plastic let me show you...

Its really quite fun!

Cozy Sweatshirt DIY

Winter's coming! We've been fogged in for a week or so and its beautiful outside, very Christmas like.

I really like to stay inside and craft when the weather is cold. So here's another sweater I made that I'm very excited to share! It turned out so cute and its so comfy!

There are so many cute shirts out there its so fun to see all the different designs and creative graphics! But I really like to make my own.

I really love this sweater... and I can wear it for the whole cold season... which for us is November through April most years.

It was so easy and fun to make... my youngest keeps saying she needs one too.

I'm thinking I might even need a few more of this same design in different colors of sweatshirt.... and a few different colors of the other design I made (both designs are at the bottom of this post).

Halloween signs DIY

Its spooky outside!

Halloween is right around the corner and we finally got our Halloween signs finished.

These signs were a pain for me to make.  Mostly it was my fault because I used oil based paint which took a lot longer to dry... then I messed up the vinyl the first time so I had to re-do it... and the paint kept pealing off the second sign... so after 3 or 4 tries, I finally declared them done regardless of how they looked.

I do like the way they turned out even with all the mistakes.

Solar Jack-O-Lanterns

Its October!... there's a scare in the air.

These solar pumpkins are one of the coolest projects!

We love carving pumpkins and lighting them for All-Hallows-Eve but we only get to enjoy them for one night... all that work for one night.

So when I saw this project on the internet I was online ordering some solar lights so I could make some solar pumpkins.

As soon as the solar lights arrived I got started.

Retaining Wall

Summer is winding down and its time to get a few things done before it gets cold outside...

I know this isn't something I normally share but I'm really excited about this project!

Well I got a huge surprise a couple Saturdays ago when I thought we'd be working on some projects my Husband wanted to get done... instead he got the tractor and we started digging out the section of lawn between our house and shop.

Its been a sloped mess since we moved in 6 years ago... it's to steep to walk down, hard to mow and we can only keep patches of grass alive. We've talked about changing it for a while but I thought it was on the bottom of our project list.

So, I was really surprised when he started digging out the sod... and we got another surprise when as we dug out the grass we found a lot of large flat stones.

Fall Sweatshirt DIY

The weather is changing and that makes me excited for Fall!

I love the sights and smells of this beautiful season!

I love sweaters that are soft, warm and cozy. And I like to make my own so I have a couple to share with you. (I made one for winter but it will be in a later post)

There are so many cute sweaters online and I've bought a couple but its fun to make them too.

My girls and I really enjoy making our own designs... and with the stencils we can paint on whatever colors we want to mix up and get really creative. Although I kept these pretty basic.

Wishing Well & Wheelbarrow Craft

Okay so maybe I am borderline obsessed with wood projects...

I just really like to build things...

doesn't everyone? ;)

Building a little wishing well and wheelbarrow for my living room decor has been on my list for a while... probably a year or so...

...and I finally got them done!

These were fun easy projects that didn't take long once I got started. They aren't very big... the whishing well is about 6 inches tall, and the wheelbarrow is about 6 inches long. So not very big but the perfect size for my crate shelves.

The wishing well is cut out of 1/2inch square dowls... with the supports being popsicle sticks. The little tin roof is one of my favorite parts of the wishing well (I bought it at Dollar Tree in the craft section and cut it down to fit)

Self-Watering Strawberry Planter {Wicking Bed}

Have you ever heard of a Wicking Bed

I hadn't until last summer and they are amazing

A wicking bed is a raised bed that has a water reservoir in the bottom that slowly wicks up water into the soil to water your plants. So you don't have to water your raised beds every day. Who doesn't like less watering!

Ladder Shelf & Wall Shelf

I have a thing for wood and building things...

I wouldn't call it an obsession...

I just really enjoy it.

I saw a cute shelf the other day as I was scrolling through Amazon looking for something we needed... wink, wink, ... I decided that shelf would look so cute on our bookcase in the living room. So instead of clicking to buy it... which is what most people would do... I've been guilty of that plenty of times... (ask my husband)... I hopped on lowes.com to see how much it would be to build my own. Now this option isn't always the cheapest because the cost of wood is so darn much, but its what I love to do... so I did.

The nice thing about making your own wood projects is that you usually have left over pieces of wood so then you can just make more projects :)

My girls & I love to decorate and make things... well I came across a cute Halloween soap idea the other day that looked fun and simple. As soon as I saw them I thought they would make a great gift for the sweet Ladies we minister to. There were so many ideas and different ways to make them...

So here's our cute gift idea...
